New Stores Open in Downtown Birmingham for the 2026 Holiday Season

Several new stores are open in downtown Birmingham for the 2026 holiday season, giving families more reasons to walk Old Woodward while they shop. Rag & Bone opened its first Michigan store at 110 South Old Woodward, Vuori is open at 100 South Old Woodward, Design Within Reach moved into 214 West Maple Road, and Cherry Republic opened its first Metro Detroit store at 243 West Maple Road, all confirmed on the brands' official store locators.

Rag & Bone opened its two-level lofted space in spring 2026, Vuori occupies the corner of Woodward and Maple, and Design Within Reach opened its Birmingham studio in the former Anthropologie space in the Wabeek building during the summer. Cherry Republic, the Northern Michigan cherry brand, opened at 243 West Maple Road in the space where Detroit Guitar operated, and it is the company's first location outside Northern Michigan.

J.Jill is still on the way at 284 West Maple Road in the former Moosejaw space, with interior construction underway as of late September and the store not yet listed among the brand's open Michigan locations. For families, the new mix matters because it pairs the district's existing restaurants and independent shops with national brands, which makes downtown Birmingham a one-stop holiday shopping trip on foot.

The stores sit within a short walk of one another on Old Woodward and Maple, and the Birmingham Farmers Market lot and the seasonal events on the Birmingham Shopping District calendar are part of the same compact downtown.
