Bella Rose Italian Opens in Downtown Royal Oak: Handmade Pasta for Families

Bella Rose Italian is a new restaurant in downtown Royal Oak that opened Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 100 South Main Street on the corner of Main and 11 Mile Road, and it gives families another sit-down option on one of the city's most walkable blocks. The restaurant is part of the Adam Merkel restaurant group, and it moved into the first-floor space where Bella Limone previously operated, with a redesigned dining room for the new concept.

The menu centers on handmade pasta and seasonal Italian dishes, including wild mushroom gnocchi, tagliatelle bolognese, and chicken meatballs, with a signature espresso martini soufflé among the desserts. Wine and spritzes round out the drink list, and the kitchen includes options for guests with dietary restrictions, which makes the restaurant easier for a mixed group that includes children.

Hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., Friday from 4 to 11 p.m., Saturday from noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m., with the restaurant closed on Mondays. The Main Street location sits in the heart of downtown Royal Oak, a short walk from the Fifth Avenue pedestrian plaza, the farmers market, and the city's shops, so a dinner here pairs naturally with a walk around the downtown.

For families weighing Royal Oak as a place to live, a downtown that keeps adding restaurants with real sit-down service at different price points is part of the everyday appeal, since it means regular dinner plans can stay close to home without turning into a production. Hours and menu details can shift, so the restaurant's own website at bellaroseitalian.com is the place to confirm before heading over.
