Arts Beats and Eats returns to downtown Royal Oak over Labor Day weekend, September 4 through September 7, 2026, and it remains one of the biggest family-friendly events on the Oakland County calendar. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday.

The festival features live music across multiple stages, a juried art show with works from artists around the region, and food vendors offering a wide range of options. Families with young children will want to find the Detroit Institute of Arts Kids Stage, which offers hands-on activities and entertainment designed for younger visitors.

Royal Oak's downtown is walkable and the festival footprint is manageable even with a stroller. The event is held in the streets around the central downtown area. Parking fills early on peak days, so arriving before noon or using the shuttle options is recommended.

The Royal Oak Farmers Market, at 316 East 11 Mile Road, continues its regular Saturday hours from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the fall season, with local produce and vendors.
